Direction l'Isle sur la Sorgue, ville du sud que j'affectionne tout particulièrement, non seulement pour sa beauté mais également pour sa concentration incroyable de brocanteurs, antiquaires et artistes au m²... et ses journées spéciales brocantes qui sont un régal pour les yeux ... un peu moins pour le porte-monnaie.
Mais aujourd'hui, je veux vous faire découvrir une artiste française, Aurélie Alvarez qui peint sur des toiles, des paravents, des murs ... Elle est installée à l'Isle sur la Sorgue, son atelier se situe dans un endroit splendide, qu'elle laisse volontairement "dans son jus", elle y travaille mieux, elle y puise son inspiration mais elle possède également un show-room dans le quartier des artistes et antiquaires à l'Isle sur la Sorgue ...

Joanna Maclennan qui je vous le rappelle vit et travaille avec son compagnon Mike dans le sud de la France. Joanna photographie ses sujets à l'aide d'un très vieil appareil argentique de 1957, avec réglage manuel, elle travaille uniquement avec la lumière naturelle, d'où le rendu si particulier et magnifique de ses clichés.

Go to Isle on Sorgue, city of the South where I like quite particularly, not only for her beauty but also for the incredible concentration of secondhand goods dealers, antique dealers and artists and her special days deal in second-hand goods which are a delight for eyes less for the purse.
But today, I want to make you discover a French artist Aurélie Alvarez who paints on paintings, folding screens, walls. She is thus settled in Isle on Sorgue, her workshop is situated in a magnificent place, but which she leaves voluntarily " in its juice ", she works on it better she draws it her inspiration but she also possesses a showroom in the district of the artists in Isle on Sorgue (you will find hisher route at the end of the bill).
I present you her works magnificently emphasized by the photographer Joanna Maclennan who I remind it to you is English, living in the South of France with her companion Mike who works with her. Joanna photographs her subjects by means of a very old argentic device of 1957 with only the natural light, where from the particular and magnificent depiction of its pictures.

Ce qu'Aurélie Alvarez dit à propos de son parcours
Née à Paris en 1967 , mon apprentissage de peintre à débuté à l’école des Beaux Arts d’ Avignon en France pendant lequel j’ai suivie 5 années de cours . Je me suis tout d’abord intéressée à l’art contemporain et j’ai eu une production de toiles et de travaux plutôt d’ordre conceptuels et moderne , puis je me suis dirigée vers la restauration de tableaux , ce qui m’a évidemment emmenée vers la peinture du 17 ème et 18 ème siècle .
J’ai vécu dans une famille ou déjà ma mère ainsi que ma grand mère exerçaient le métier d’ antiquaire et, je pense que c’est cet environnement dans lequel j’ai grandi qui m’a beaucoup imprégnié. J’ ai ramassé la poussière de ce patrimoine culturel pour tenter de le réintroduire dans ma production personnelle .
Grâce à mes études de plasticien, je me sens très libre vis à vis des matériaux que j’utilise ( technique mixte ) .
Je pense avoir une très grande sincérité par rapport à mon travail et, c’est grâce à ce dernier que je peux m’offrir les décors de mes rêves et déjâ rêver aux prochains ………
What Aurélie Alvarez says about his route
My atelier is an essential vehicle in the creation of my work. Its an austere and authentic place which inspires me greatly and where I like to work and spend my time. It is a loft that is not insulated and is very cold in the winter. I have no intention of changing this environment. It is part of what I paint and I feel more and more at home within these walls. These are the walls that have been here for many centuries, they have their own history, depth, vibrations with layers of paint, which is peeling and changes colour depending upon the sunlight that hits them. They have their own mark, abandoned through time, witness to life, of which I now feel apart of. These walls guide me; giving my paintings their rawness. I also like working with the notion of 'dust', which stays like a spotless imprint, perhaps the dust of time that runs, a universal dust or perhaps the dust of my cultural heritage, which I attempt to reproduce in my paintings and my décor.
The notion of time or timelessness, also take centre place in the heart of my work. I don't attach or retell a story, only try to reproduce 'an imprint' that puts me in a place where I can dream and feel free. I am really transported by this place and I think that I owe a lot to this environment of which for me time does not exist. It is simply an invitation to travel (to be lost in another world)………'
